Daniel Tanski - Head Coach

Coach Dan Tanski has been with the Barracudas for three season. In his time as Head Coach, the Barracudas have improved their place at North Country League Championships each season, as well as nearly doubling the number of NYS YMCA State Championship qualifiers. Prior to working with the team, Dan worked as the Aquatics Coordinator at the SSYMCA. Dan is a recent graduate of Sage College of Albany with a degree in Physical Education. Dan enjoys hiking, running and especially golfing when away from the pool.

College: Graduate of Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA with a bachelors degree in Economics & Accounting. Athletics: Division I Varsity Swimmer for College of the Holy Cross all four years USA Swimming - Swam for The Ridgefield Aquatics Club in CT & The Mt. Kisco Marlins in NY during high school & middle School. Varsity Swimming New Fairfield High School all 4 years --> Specialized in the breaststroke, IM & distance events. Work: Currently working at a public accounting firm in Latham, NY (LCS&Z, LLP) and is studying to sit for the CPA exam. Other: Enjoys running, swimming, mountain biking

I grew up in Meadville, Pennsylvania. While there, I was a varsity swimmer (butterfly and sprint free) and diver, and qualified twice for the Pennsylvania State Diving Championships. I was also a varsity quarterback in football for 3 years. After graduating Meadville in 2000, I was recruited to dive for Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, an NCAA Division 1 program. I competed for three seasons with Lehigh, and qualified once for the Patriot League Diving  Championships on 3-meter springboard. After graduating Lehigh in 2004 with degrees in Chemical Engineering and Biochemistry, I went to work with Merck & Co., Inc. in the Philadelphia area. After working there for almost 2 years, I left Merck to pursue graduate studies at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy. Currently, I remain at RPI, working towards my Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering. I'm also an avid skier, and participant in U.S.A. rugby as a senior level player and coach.

Jessica Magnus

I grew up in Waterbury, VT. I swam for the local summer team, the Waterbury Rapids, from age 8 – 18, and was an assistant coach my senior year of high school. I was also active in soccer, basketball, softball, track and hockey throughout grade school and high school. I attended Rice Memorial High School in South Burlington, VT. From there I went to college at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY where I was and a 3 year member of the Swim Team, specializing in breast stroke, as well as a 4 year member of the Crew Team. I somehow found the time to get a B.S. in Management too! In addition to coaching, I’m working full time at Seaglass Logowear in Clifton Park, and part time at L.L. Bean. I enjoy the outdoors, camping, and skiing, swimming and watching sports.
